Colbert Festival, organised by Committee Colbert that combines French brands, was opened with a ceremony in Istinye Park in order to introduce French fashion style in Turkey. Nicole Bricq, Foreign Trade Minister of France, Herve Magro, the French Consul General to Istanbul, Sukru Genc, Sarıyer Mayor, Murat Karakaya, Sarıyer District Security Director, Zafer Yıldırım and Zafer Kurşun, Co-chairmen of Istinye Park Board of Directors attended the opening. Seckin Ozdemir, Deputy Mayor of Sarıyer, and Gulfem Saydan, Political Advisor of the Mayor Sukru Genc were also there.  
 

Cultures that Incorporates Modernity and Tradition
 
Minister Bricq made an opening speech at the festival that will be on between January 16 and 22, and likened Nisantasi to Champ Elysees, adding that Turkey and France incorporated modernity and tradition. Bricq, Foreign Trade Minister of France said as follows in brief: ‘That this special event is organised here in Istanbul, a capital of economy in Turkey, is actually an indication of respect. Our event intends to confirm that Istanbul is the shining star of the world. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on the excellence and quality of the infrastructure. The French brands that are here with me today expressed their gratitude for being here. Today, we are going to discover not only the French luxury but also the economic and political excellence of relationship between Turkey and France.’
 
Ribbon ceremony followed after the Minister Bricq’s speech. After that, the Minister Bricq, Mayor Genc and other protocol members paid a short visit to 6 different stores that sold French brands in Lüks Sokağı. Bricq, Genc and the committee received information about the products from the store personnel and examined the installations.
